SALISBURY, NC — Police are investigating after a deadly collision Thursday evening in Rowan County.
The accident happened around 6:30pm at the intersection of Jake Alexander Boulevard and Lincolnton Road. Police say the passenger in one of the vehicles had to be cut out, and transported to NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Officials say she later died from her injuries.
The driver of that same vehicle was also transported with serious injuries to North East Medical Center in Concord.
Officials say the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were not injured in the accident.
Police have not yet identified any of the parties involved. Investigators say weather was not a factor in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
