Local Woman’s 2 dogs Stolen for 2nd Time
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second time in a matter of months, Ally Montier’s pet pugs have been stolen from her home. Montier says, “The first time was terrible, was last November. I did thanks to the media and people on Facebook, sharing. I got them back.”
The first time, the dogs were found on the loose in southwest Charlotte. They’re both microchipped, which made reuniting them with Montier easier. After that, Montier moved, for security.
She tells WCCB Charlotte, “I dont know, it’s crazy, I thought I was safe, I thought I was safe here.”
Thursday, her dogs were stolen again, and her home was ransacked. Clothes and toiletries dumped on the floor. Jewelry and her passport, gone. Her furniture, slashed. Her fridge and freezer, left open. The criminals locked her door key chain so she couldn’t get inside. And they left behind her dogs’ collars. The pugs are all she has here. Montier was an attorney in Brazil, where her family still lives.
She says through tears, “I am by myself. They are my family here.”
As if having her dogs stolen for the second time isn’t awful enough, Montier says other strange, dangerous things have happened to her recently. Her tires were slashed. Her brake lines cut. Water was poured into her gas tank. It certainly appears that she’s being targeted, but Montier says she has no enemies.
She does have a simple plea to the people who have her pets: “Whoever is doing this, it’s time to stop,” and, “Please stop. It’s time to stop.”
Montier says the police came out to her home yesterday and collected evidence. She is offering a reward for the safe return of her dogs, no questions asked. In the meantime, she’s staying with a friend, because she’s too afraid to stay in her home.
