Neighbors Meet About Increased Flight Noise Around Charlotte-Douglas
CHARLOTTE, NC — Some south Charlotte neighbors are frustrated about an increase in airplane noise after flight patterns changed about a year ago. Now they say planes are rattling their homes and keeping them up at night.
Neighbors met Thursday night to see how many other people are having the same problem. Charlotte City Council Member Tariq Bakari says the meeting was a good first step towards a solution.
“It’s not just a couple folks in one part of town,” says Bakari. “It’s a large group of people who have been impacted by the changes that the FAA has made over these past couple of years.”
Charlotte-Douglas and the FAA have formed a roundtable group to study airplane noise.
