Charlotte A Finalist For 2020 Republican National Convention
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte is on the list of finalists to host the 2020 Republican National Convention, according to sources in the Republican Party.
Seven cities submitted bids before the Republican National Committee narrowed the list.Β Las Vegas is also a finalist along with two other unnamed cities.
The RNC is expected to make a recommendation to President Trump this summer after the selection committee has the opportunity to visit the sites.
According to selection committee members, Charlotte’s Bid is very competitive and the bi-partisan support of the bid, including Democratic Mayor Vi Lyles, is also a factor.
