Thieves Use Large Rock To Break Into Several Lincoln County Businesses

LINCOLNTON, N.C.- Police are searching for two suspects who used a large rock to break into four Lincoln County businesses on Highway 16 North overnight.

Officials say deputies were called to the Pomodoro’s Restaurant on Natalie Commons Drive around 2:20 a.m. where they discovered the suspects smashed the front door in and left behind a large rock.

While handling the Pomodoro’s Restaurant burglary, officers learned of additional break-ins at Mazatlan Restaurant on Natalie Commons Drive and The Red Barn Marketplace and the Silver Grill on Business Highway 16 North.

In these burglaries, police say the thieves also used a large rock to break out the windows to gain entry to the businesses.

The suspects stole money from all the businesses and a safe from Pomodoro’s Restaurant and were in each location for roughly two minutes, according to police.

Authorities believe one suspect was wearing a red hoodie with dark sweat pants with white stripes on the side, white shoes, a toboggan, and a bandana covering the face. The other suspect is said to have worn a red jacket with dark pants and shoes and a dark-colored hat with a white stripe and pompom on top.

Anyone with information about this string of break-ins is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050 or Lincolnton/Lincoln County Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 if any tips lead to an arrest.
