CMPD Animal Care And Control To Give Out Free Flea And Tick Treatments

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care and Control Division will be providing doses of First Shield Trio flea, tick, and mosquito treatments, while supplies last, to pet owners who attend the monthly outreach clinics held on the second Saturday of each month.

The CMPD Animal Care and Control unit received a grant from the Banfield Foundation including thirty cases of First Shield Trio to support pet health and wellness.

The doses will be available this Saturday May 12, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the front lawn of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care and Control Division located at 8315 Byrum Drive in Charlotte.

Pet owners will also be able access other services including free rabies vaccinations, $10 microchips, and free pet I.D. tags.

Free spay and neuter surgeries will also be available but must be scheduled ahead of time.  Applications are available here.
