Mark Harris Upsets Incumbent Robert Pittenger In U.S. House 9th District Race

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Baptist pastor and Republican challenger Mark Harris upsets U.S. Representative Robert Pittenger in the U.S House 9th District race.

Harris grew up in Winston-Salem but currently lives in Charlotte as the former Senior Pastor at First Baptist Charlotte.

Pittenger is the first House incumbent to lose in the Primary.  Pittenger is serving his third term representing citizens of southern Mecklenburg County, Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland and Robeson counties, and large portions of Cumberland and Bladen counties.
