CHARLOTTE, NC — A woman was nearly sexually assaulted after police say she accepted a ride home with two unidentified suspects overnight Thursday.
According to reports, the victim had been at a restaurant with friends on Albemarle Road near Central Avenue earlier that night, and accepted a ride home from the two suspects.
Police say around 2:30am, the suspects unexpectedly pulled the dark colored Toyota truck over into an abandoned parking lot and tried to sexually assault the victim.
The victim fought off the suspects, police say, and managed to escape. She was found walking from the parking lot a short time later by a witness, and called 911.
