CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Β Β The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting in east Charlotte.
OnΒ Sunday, May 13, 2018Β at about 1:53 a.m., officers responded to the SMS Catering Service located atΒ 1764 Norland Road.
Police say the businessΒ was rented out to a promoter holding a party inside the building andΒ a shooting occurred outside of the building in the street and in neighboring parking lots, as the event was ending and people were leaving the building.
Three people were shot including one woman and two men.Β The woman and one of the male victims were taken to Presbyterian hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The other male victim is being treated at CMC-Main for life threatening injuries.
This is an ongoing, active investigation and further information will be released as it develops.
