BELMONT, NC — Gaston County Police have arrested a 62-year-old man they say has been shooting at passing vehicles for months.
Michael Edward Wilson was arrested Monday at his home on South Point Road. According to detectives, Wilson is accused of shooting into passing vehicles from July 28, 2017 to May 2, 2018. The shootings would allegedly take place at various times between roughly 11:20am and 9:30pm.
No injuries were ever reported.
Police say one of the vehicles hit was a Belmont Fire Department truck that is based at the South Point Volunteer Fire Department.
Wilson is charged with four counts each of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle and Assault in Secret. He is currently being held under a $1 million bond.
