Police: Man Faces Multiple Charges After Going To Two Homes, Firing Several Shotgun Rounds

MATTHEWS, NC — A man is facing multiple charges after he reportedly got “tired of that drug house” in Matthews and went to “handle it himself” with a shotgun.

Police say 49-year-old Brian Meadows grabbed his shotgun and went to a home on Morris Road around 8pm Monday night. As a vehicle made its way up the driveway, Meadows reportedly fired three rounds into the air before firing a fourth into the front grill of the vehicle.

Two victim’s inside the vehicle later told police that Meadows said he was “tired of that drug house” so he came to “handle it himself.”

Meadows then made his way to a nearby home on E. Charles Street, according to officials, and fired another round into the air while approaching two men in the driveway. Witnesses say one of the men was able to get the shotgun away from Meadows, and held him at the location until police could arrive.

No one was injured during any of the incidents.

Meadows has been charged with Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits, Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Dwelling/Moving Vehicle, two counts of Communicating Threats, Damage to Personal Property, two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and/or Inflict Serious Injury.
