HARMONY, NC — A 62-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting two children.
Deputies say Rafael Florez was arrested Tuesday on two felony counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child. Officials say the investigation started after someone reported a child being sexually assaulted at a local convenience store.
Florez was identified as the suspect, officials say, after compiling witness statements, surveillance, and other evidence from the scene.
Additional information gathered also led investigators to additional victims.
Florez has received a $75,000 secured bond.
