Suspect Sought In Rock Hill Armed Robbery Involving 60-Year-Old Woman

UPDATE: Rock Hill police officers have warrants for William Joseph Bogue for holding up a woman at gunpoint at the Galleria Mall and fleeing from officers.

He has not yet been found.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A woman was left injured after a man stole her purse and pointed a handgun at her in Rock Hill on Wednesday.

Around 3 p.m., a woman in her 60s was walking to her car in the Galleria Mall parking lot on Dave Lyle Boulevard where a while male in a black pickup truck pulled up beside her and got out of the car, according to Rock Hill police.

The male suspect grabbed the woman’s purse and reportedly pointed a handgun at her. He immediately fled the scene, striking the woman with the door of his pickup truck.

Police were able to locate the pickup truck on Anderson Road and a short pursuit began, but the suspect car got away in heavy traffic on Celanese Road.

The woman suffered from minor injuries to her arm and was transported to PMC for treatment.  Her purse was found in the afternoon in a dumpster in the 1300 block of East Main Street near Firetower Road.

A person of interest has been identified and no charges have been made. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
