CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was arrested after police say she threatened to “shoot up” a local Cookout restaurant.

Early Friday, May 25, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police officers were called to 13317 York Center Drive after an employee at the Cookout Restaurant notified them about a woman who was “in rage”, possibly armed with a gun and threatening to “shoot up” the restaurant. There were also tips that the suspect possibly fired a shot outside of the restaurant.

Police located the woman at the intersection of south Tryon Street and Westinghouse Boulevard, but then, she fled on foot. During the foot pursuit, the woman fired a handgun at least twice. Officers continued the pursuit and eventually took her into custody near the intersection of south Tryon Street at Sandy Porter Road.
