Hundreds Show Up To Welcome Back Veterans On Honor Flight
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nearly a thousand people were at Charlotte-Douglas Airport to welcome home the Queen City Honor Flight this Memorial Day.
Ninety veterans from the Charlotte area flew to Washington, D.C. to visit memorials honoring their sacrifice. They returned home last night to a hero’s welcome.
The Charlotte Fire Department greeted them with a salute of fire trucks and water spraying over the plane.
Honor Flight does this for veterans across the country every Memorial Day weekend.
