Two Suspects Charged In Series Of Armed Robberies
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has charged two suspects in connection to a series of armed robberies throughout the Charlotte area.
Police say Kristian Williams, 22, and Garnette Gwinn, 19, have each been charged in connection to an armed robbery at the Days Inn on Little Rock Road just before 3:30 Sunday morning. According to investigators, one of the suspects entered the hotel with a gun and demanded money before taking off in a vehicle driven by the other suspect.
Williams and Gwinn were arrested around 4:43am Tuesday when police say a suspicious vehicle matching the suspect description was seen on Glenwood Drive. CMPD says evidence from the Days Inn robbery was found inside.
Investigators say they have also identified Williams as the suspect in two additional armed robberies. One of those robberies reportedly happened shortly before his arrest Tuesday morning, and the other took place on May 1st.
Williams is charged with three counts each of Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.
Gwinn is charged with Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.
