Arrest Made After Man Seriously Injured In Lenoir Stabbing

LENOIR, N.C. — Police say they arrested a man involved in a stabbing in Lenoir.  The incident happened just after 2am on May 31st on Barcose Street.

Police say Zebulon Spurlock stabbed 40-year-old David Story in the abdomen.  Story was transported to Caldwell UNC Healthcare where he is in critical condition.

Spurlock was immediately identified as a suspect, according to a news release.  Spurlock was later taken into custody at a residence on Norwood Street.

Spurlock has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and damage to property.  Police say Spurlock damaged a police vehicle while he was being taken into custody.

Spurlock received a $101,000 bond.
