Man Charged With Murder Of Girlfriend At Charlotte Motel

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged a man with killing his girlfriend in a Charlotte motel room.

The CMPD says officers responded to reports of an overdose in the 300 block of Archdale Drive at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday.

Arriving officers located Jameriane Laverne Ardrey, 40, dead at the scene with physical injuries.

James Mangus Brewer, 41, was taken into custody at the scene.  Detectives determined Brewer and Ardrey were dating and were involved in a physical altercation.

Brewer has been charged with First Degree Murder.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.  Detective Isenhour is the lead detective assigned to the case.
