One Injured And Sent To Hospital After Shooting In East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating a shooting that happened in east Charlotte on Monday night.

Officials say an adult male was shot while standing outside a home just before 9 p.m. on Holly Grove Court. Medic says he was taken to CMC Main with life threatening injuries. As of now, he is in stable condition.

Three residences were struck by bullets, 2 of which had people inside. Two parked cars were hit by bullets. No one else was injured.

At this time, it appears that the victim was not the intended target, but is an acquaintance of the person that the suspect(s) were shooting at.  Detectives believe that  the suspects and the intended victim know each other.

Police are investigating, but have not released any additional information on a suspect or what may have led to the shooting.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, no arrests have been made yet.

Shortly after this incident,  an ADW occurred in the 2600 block of Milton Road.  An adult male was hit by a suspect who was armed with a firearm. (Victim was physically struck with the firearm, he was not shot) and sustained a NLT injury.    That report number will be 20180604211100.  The 911 call came in at 9:11 p.m.   Based upon the  initial investigations at both scenes -it appears that these two incidents are related.
