Crayfish Amputates Claw to Avoid Being Boiled

  • It’s an Instagram video that’s both touching and hilarious. In the video, from a New Jersey backyard, we see a mom and her kids about to release a butterfly raised in captivity from its caterpillar stage. As mom tries to release the butterfly it flaps it’s wings a couple of times and then the big family dog gulps it down in its big, slobbery mouth.

 

  • Have you seen that video of the crayfish that’s about to be cooked at a restaurant in China? To prevent going into a pot of boiling water, it amputates its own claw and scampers away.
