Police: Another Woman Reports Possibly Being Drugged At EpiCenter Bar

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is investigating after another woman reported someone possibly slipping a drug into her drink at an EpiCenter bar.

The incident reportedly happened in Suite Charlotte on Friday, June 8th. The 23-year-old victim told police she drinking with friends when she blacked out and became ill.

A friend escorted the victim to the hospital after calling for an ambulance. The victim told police she was not injured or assaulted.

Investigators say EpiCenter and Suite Charlotte officials are being fully cooperative with the investigation, which is ongoing.

This is the second report in recent weeks of someone possibly being slipped a drug at the popular Charlotte night spot. A similar report was filed by a female victim at Rooftop 210 on May 12th.

CMPD says anyone going out and consuming alcohol in a social setting should keep the following safety tips in mind:

  • Watch your drink.
  • Do not accept drinks from strangers. Accept it directly from the server.
  • Attend with friends who you know and trust. Do not leave your friends as it can potentially put you in a vulnerable situation.
  • In the event someone feels strange or out-of-sorts, seek medical attention immediately.
  • If you feel you or someone with you may have been drugged, please report it to police as soon as possible.
