CHARLOTTE, NC — Investigators say lightning caused a house fire in south Charlotte Wednesday night.
The fire broke out shortly after 7pm at a three story home on Cumberland Avenue. Investigators say lightning from a severe thunderstorm passing over the area at that time caused the fire.
Officials say it only took crews 15 minutes to get the fire under control, but not before it caused roughly $65,000 in damages.
Fortunately no injuries were reported, but officials say five people were displaced by the fire.
