Viewer Video Shows Fire Engulfing Multiple Cars In Carowinds’ Parking Lot
FORT MILL, SC — Multiple cars caught fire Friday afternoon in the south parking lot at Carowinds.
Viewers like “lbeast3” on YouTube and Scott Lee on Facebook began posting videos and photos of the incident as it unfolded.Β Video posted to Twitter by @anneanne1014 also shows smoke and flames rising from the fully engulf vehicles as her Church group was pulling out of the park.
Officials at Carowinds say the Flint Hill Fire Department responded to the fire that affected approximately 10 vehicles in the south parking lot.
The fire has been extinguished and no injuries were reported. Carowinds officials are now asking that visitors work to keep the area clear.
Carowind’s says guest services associates are working to assist those customers who were impacted. The York County Fire Department is investigating the cause. Check back for updates.
