Victim Expected To Be Okay After Shooting In Northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person was shot in northwest Charlotte and hospitalized early Monday.

Police with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department were called a little after 1 a.m. to the 5200 block of Swearngan Road where a person had been shot at the intersection of Swearngan and Swearngan Ridge Court.

When police arrived to the scene, the victim had already left in a car that was driven by a friend of the victim.

The vehicle then went to the Quick  Trip located on Brookshire Boulevard at Hovis Road where  a CMPD officer was present.  After the friend of the victim spoke with the officer, the victim was transported by MEDIC to CMC-Main.

The person shot is suffering with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be okay.

No arrests have been made at this time.
