Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust In Lincoln County
LINCOLNTON, NC — Deputies arrested two men on several drug charges Saturday afternoon following a routine traffic stop.
Officials say William Albert Jay, 47, and Peter Edmayrd Jay III, 28, were stopped for a minor traffic violation around 2pm on North Generals Boulevard.
During a consensual search of the vehicle, deputies say they located two packages, totaling a quarter pound, of marijuana and a set of scales.
Deputies say they also located 28.8 grams of methamphetamine on one suspect and found a small amount of meth on the other.
William Jay is charged with two felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one felony count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He is also charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Peter Jay is charged with two felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one felony count each of maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was also served outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
