CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Health officials say more than a dozen people fell ill after eating feces contaminated food at a potluck party in east Charlotte over the weekend.
At least 15 people were treated at a local hospital after eating food at a birthday party at the Forest Hills apartment complex on Four Seasons Lane, according to officials.
Health officials believe improper hand washing led to the contamination. The food was reportedly prepared by someone who attended the party.
Health officials are asking people to not eat any food leftover from the event.
