Cause Of Fire That Damaged Five Highland Creek Homes Still A Mystery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials say they still don’t know what sparked a fire that damaged five homes Monday morning in the Highland Creek area of Charlotte.

The fire was reported just after 10am on Wilburn Park Lane NW.  This is near Clarke Creek Parkway.

Investigators say local fire, the State Fire Marshal’s Office and ATF investigators all agree the fire started in the garage of the first home, but are still not sure what caused it.

Two of the homes were severely damaged.  No injuries were reported.
