Caldwell County Couple Charged With Trafficking Meth
LENOIR, N.C. — Two people have been arrested following an investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Lenoir Police Department into methamphetamine trafficking in Caldwell County.
On July 12th, 2018, following a month long investigation, authorities executed a search warrant at the residence located at 1711 NW Poplar Street Apartment 1 in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Officials say Sarah Deanne Russell, 31, and Jeffrey Boyd Crosby, 28, were suspected of distributing multiple ounces of methamphetamine in the Lenoir area.
A search of the home yielded 122 grams of methamphetamine, 49 dosage units of Tramadol, 9.1 grams of marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia. According to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines, the drugs have a street value of $18,500.
Authorities also seized semi-automatic pistol and two shotguns, one of which had been modified for concealment and qualified as a weapon of mass destruction.
Russell was charged with one count of felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession and one count of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance. She is being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
Crosby was charged with one count of felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession, one count of felony Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction and one count of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance. He is being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
Both suspects face mandatory prison sentences if convicted.
