Caldwell County Couple Charged With Trafficking Meth
LENOIR, N.C. — Two people have been arrested following an investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Lenoir Police Department into methamphetamine trafficking in Caldwell County.
On July 12th, 2018, following a month long investigation, authorities executed a search warrant at the residence located at 1711 NW Poplar Street Apartment 1 in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Officials say Sarah Deanne Russell, 31, and Jeffrey Boyd Crosby, 28, were suspected of distributing multiple ounces of methamphetamine in the Lenoir area.
A search of the home yielded 122 grams of methamphetamine, 49 dosage units of Tramadol, 9.1 grams of marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia. Β According to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines, the drugs have a street value of $18,500.
Authorities also seized semi-automatic pistol and two shotguns, one of which had been modified for concealment and qualified as a weapon of mass destruction.
Russell was charged with one count of felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession and one count of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance. Β She is being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
Crosby was charged with one count of felonyΒ Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession, one count of felony Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction andΒ one count of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance. Β He is being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
Both suspects face mandatory prison sentences if convicted.
