CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two dogs were injured in separate north Charlotte shootings Saturday evening.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responded to multiple calls regarding shots fired in the 2600 block if Lasalle street at about 7:13 p.m. on Saturday. An investigation determined a suspect or suspects shot into an occupied home and struck a dog inside the residence.
While officers were investigating the initial shooting, a dog from another residence charged at an officer who then shot the dog.
Both dogs are reportedly still alive and there were no other injuries as a result of either shooting.
At about 7:16 p.m., officers responded to reports of a people shooting at each other in the 300 block of N. Hoskins Road. Arriving officers located shell casings but no one was injured and no homes were shot into during this incident.
Investigators say the two shootings appear to be related.
