CONCORD, N.C. — Cabarrus County officials have identified the victim of a deadly traffic accident early Tuesday morning on Cabarrus Highway 601, between Carriker Road and Mt. Pleasant Road South.

37-year-old Courtney Davis was killed after she collided with a tractor-trailer around 9:48am. Officials say Robert Caggiano was driving the tractor-trailer, which is owned by an Albany, Georgia based company called J Trucking.
Caggiano was not injured, but roughly 20 to 25 gallons of diesel fuel spilled from the tractor-trailer’s gas tanks resulting in the area being closed for several hours.
Midland Fire and Rescue, North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Cabarrus County police, fire and EMS teams all responded to the accident.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the accident. Anyone with additional information is asked to call 704-920-3000.
