Hornets Unveil Classic Edition White Uniforms For 30th Anniversary Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets have unveiled their white Classic Edition uniform to be worn during select games in the 2018-19 season, as the franchise celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Hornets’ inaugural 1988-89 season.

β€œWith the success of our teal Classic Edition uniforms last season, we felt it was only right to bring the white version back this year as part of our 30thΒ Anniversary celebration,” said Hornets President & Vice Chairman Fred Whitfield.Β  β€œAs we look to replicate the experience and excitement of the early days of the Hornets, wearing the white uniform that the original team wore every night at the Charlotte Coliseum brings another layer of authenticity for our fans.”

The Hornets will wear the uniforms during a series of “Classic Night” games intended to celebrated the history of the organization.Β  The “Classic Night” games will include music and game presentation elements that take fans back to the late ’80s and early ’90s, while celebrating some of the franchise’s all-time great players and featuring bobble-head and T-shirt giveaways.

There will be at lest six “Classic Night” games in the 2018-19 season.

The white Classic Edition uniforms will feature the Jordan Brand and Lending Tree logos like the rest of the team’s uniforms and is expected to be available for retail sale in November.
