2 Suspects Charged In Hickory Shooting Case

HICKORY, NC — Police have charged two suspects in connection to a shooting Monday afternoon.

Officers say they responded to a shots fired call around 2pm near the intersection of 7th Avenue SW and 2nd Street Place SW. No one was injured, but police identified the two suspects as Tykevious Thomas, 26, of Vale, and Marcus Mayfield, 26, of Hickory.

Both men have both been charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Thomas is additionally charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits.

Mayfield is additionally charged with Armed to the Terror of the Public, and was also served outstanding warrants for Assault on a Female and Assault on a Minor under 12.
