Body Of Missing Charlotte Man Found In Union County, Roommate Facing Murder Charge

Sources tell WCCB that the body of Eric Spells has been located in Union County. Deputies are on the scene at New Town Road between Cuthbertson Road and Twelve Mile Creek. The road has been shut down for several hours.
Spells was reportedly murdered by his roommate Dwayne Evans following an argument. Read the story before for more information.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested three people for their involvement in the murder of a Charlotte man.
Detectives say they charged Dwayne Evans with the murder of his roommate, Eric Spells. Police were first called when Spells’ girlfriend reported him missing on July 25th after he reportedly got into an argument with Evans. Spells allegedly had been missing since the night before and did not show up for work.
When officers arrived at the residence on South Smallwood Place they say they discovered evidence indicating that a crime had occurred. Police say they determined Spells was killed by Evans and then Jason Palmer and Shavonn Scott assisted is disposing Spells’ body.
All three suspects were arrested in Concord, North Carolina. Palmer and Scott have been charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
