GenHERation Is Helping Local Women Jump-Start Their Careers

CHARLOTTE, NC — Dozens of young Charlotte women are getting hands-on experience at innovative companies in our area.

On Monday, 50 high school and college students got to connect with executives at Atrium Health. They did virtual reality surgeries, talked with doctors, and saw what happens in trauma situations.

It’s through a national organization called “GenHERation” that helps women jump-start their careers. The company’s founder says it’s about showing students that they’re more than just their resume.

GenHERation partners with companies like Amazon, Google, and Southwest Airlines to offer students scholarships and internships.
