Newton Family Dollar Armed Robbery Suspect Wanted

NEWTON, NC — Police are trying to find a man accused of robbing a Family Dollar at gunpoint Monday evening.

Employees told police a black male entered the store at 2725-F Northwest Boulevard around 6:04pm and began yelling demands while pointing a gun. The suspect reportedly escaped after forcing the employee to empty the register into a shopping bag.

Police say the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and several other items, but no one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect was wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing, according to witnesses, and escaped on foot.
