Police Seeking Two Men For Stealing From Gas Station

MAIDEN, N.C. — The Maiden Police Department continues an active search for two men caught on video surveillance stealing three cases of beer, ten packs of cigarettes, a BIC lighter and two fountain drinks from a gas station on July 19th.

Around 4:00 am, a silver Toyota Rav 4 entered the parking lot of the Times gas station at 5862 Startown Rd. and circled the building once before two black males exited the vehicle on the east side of the store and went inside, according to a news release.

Images captured by surveillance video show one of the men wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap with a “Gas Monkey” logo and Nike tennis shoes. The other man was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap with the letter “R” on the front.

Upon entering the store, police say the man in the white shirt took three cases of beer from the beer cooler while the man in the grey shirt asks the cashier for ten packs of cigarettes. The two men attempted to pay for the items but were told by the clerk that they were unable to purchase alcohol at this time.

The two men quickly exited the store with the items in hand and ran toward the parked Toyota Rav 4. They fled the scene in the vehicle without paying for the items, according to officials.

Police ask for anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two men or other details regarding the case to call the Maiden Police Department at (828)428-5005.
