CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD says the suspect wanted for allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman in north Charlotte last week has been caught.
38-year-old Robert A. Thorne, of Rock Hill, was arrested early Friday morning. Police say Thorne picked up a woman walking along N. Tryon Street near 26th Street around 3:45pm on Friday, July 27th, and drove her to a secluded area before sexually assaulting her.
Thorne then reportedly left the 24-year-old victim at the corner of W. 24th Street and N. Pine Street.
CMPD says Thorne was arrested by Rock Hill Police and transferred into the custody of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
