Man Found Dead In Union County House Fire

WEDDINGTON, NC — Investigators are trying to determine what caused a house fire that left one man dead Monday evening.

Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, the Union County Fire Marshal and the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly house fire shortly before 7pm on Belk Gatewood Lane.

Officials say a man’s body was found inside the residence, and pronounced dead on scene. So far, investigators have not released the man’s identity or any information on how he may have died.

The cause of the fire is also under investigation. Check back for updates.
