CMPD And Charlotte Communities Celebrate National Night Out

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD officers attended more than 70 neighborhood events and block parties Tuesday night as part of National Night Out.

National Night Out has brought Charlotte communities and the men and women who police them together for 25 years. The goal is to strengthen police-community partnerships with cookouts, porch sit-ins and other events designed to show that residents won’t tolerate crime in their neighborhood.

People say it’s a good way to meet police officers and spread the word about city programs.

This year CMPD also used National Night Out to celebrate Charlotte’s 250th anniversary.
