CHARLOTTE, NC — A former TSA officer from Mecklenburg County will spend the next 25 years in prison after being sentence Tuesday on drug trafficking and gun related charges.
On July 7, Jamie Blunder, 50, of Charlotte, was convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Crack Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.
According to court documents, Blunder and several co-conspirators were part of a drug conspiracy from 2002 to 2016, which trafficked large amounts of crack cocaine and cocaine. The drugs were reportedly transported and distributed in Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, and several other areas.
Officials say Blunder used his TSA position to avoid detection while traveling in and between the Jamestown, Greensboro, and High Point areas, but never used the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport to traffic the drugs.
During the course of the investigation, agents say they seized at least eight firearms, more than $150,000 in cash and over two kilograms of cocaine.
Officials say four of Blunder’s co-conspirators have already been sentenced.
Aaron Dixon, 41, of Greenville, NC, was sentenced to 75 months in prison; David Pate, 45, of High Point, was sentenced to 67 months in prison; Samuel Little, 60, of Greensboro, was sentenced to 60 months in prison; and Irvin Lampley, 58, of Greensboro, was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
