Barefoot Woman Convicted Of 2017 Armed Robbery
GRANITE FALLS, NC — A woman who robbed a convenience store while barefoot in January 2017 has been sentenced to at least four years in prison.
Judy Norris, 50, was found guilty of Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and 2nd Degree Kidnapping on August 8th in Caldwell County. A judge on Monday sentenced Norris to four to six years in prison.
Norris was arrested for robbing a Granite Falls convenience store on January 9, 2017. An employee said Norris was wearing a mask, sweatshirt, camouflage pants, and no shoes when she forced him into the bathroom at gunpoint and locked him inside.
She then proceeded to steal cash from the register, according to a report, as well as rolled coins from under the counter.
Investigators say store managers were able to identify Norris as the suspect based on several physical characteristics and her bare feet seen in surveillance video.
The suspect vehicle, mask, sweatshirt, and several stolen items were later found at Norris’ home.
