Suspect In Custody After Deputy Shot Along Highway In Cleveland County
CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A deputy with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office was shot twice while responding to a suspicious person call off Highway 74 late Tuesday night.
Investigators say Deputy Tim Sims was shot twice in both the cheek and thigh around 11 p.m. at KM Auto Brokers between Kings Mountain and Shelby.
Deputies were able to use dashcam video to track down the shooter and arrest him in Harrisburg.
The suspect has been identified as Dakota Greene. He will be charged with attempted murder.
The deputy was taken to a local hospital in Shelby and is expected to be okay.
