BELMONT, NC — The Gastonia Police Department Bomb Squad says a suspicious package reported outside a grocery store Thursday afternoon was a false alarm.
The package that prompted the bomb squad’s response turned out to be an empty suitcase, according to officials.
Belmont Police say the package was reported around 3:27pm in the parking lot of Aldi Food Mart on Wilkinson Boulevard. Gastonia PD’s Bomb Squad unit was called to assist with the investigation.
