Video Shows Second Suspect Wanted For Saturday Morning Shooting In South Charlotte

CMPD has released a video they say shows a second suspect wanted in connection to Saturday morning’s shooting in south Charlotte.

The suspect is seen wearing a green t-shirt with yellow wording, dark pants, a ball cap and a red backpack.

Anyone with information on this person’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or 911.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 32-year-old man was shot in south Charlotte early Saturday morning.

Police with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department were called around 2:30 a.m. to 222 E. 3rd Street where they found Tony Davis who had been shot in the back. He suffered minor injuries.

Davis was transported by Medic to Atrium Health for treatment. Once released from the hospital, Davis was charged with possession of cocaine that was found on him during the investigation. He was then transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

CMPD says the incident was drug related and occurred at a parking lot near the intersection of 4th Street and Brevard Street.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.

This shooting was not related to any of the Pride Festival events uptown.
