NC Teacher Suspended Over Pole Dancing Video

She’s passionate about pole dancing, but now a North Carolina school teacher is upset she was suspended for something she considers just a hobby.

Kandice Mason says she was looking forward to school starting next week.
Now waiting on the Hoke County School Board to weigh in on her suspension with pay.
Mason teaches pole dancing part-time.
She says it keeps her in shape and is a form of self-expression.
A video of her workout posted on her private Facebook page was somehow leaked to the school district, which says she violated its policy that requires teachers to be role models outside of the classroom.

“I work so hard to try to make sure I can provide for my daughters, for myself, for our livelihood, to have it jeopardized just for doing something that I’m passionate about,” Mason said.

Pole dancing is becoming more mainstream.
It is now popular with fitness buffs looking for a way to break up their routine and is even being considered as a future Olympic sport.
