Zakee Antwon Edward Davis, 24, of Lancaster has been charged with the murder of Demarcus Hendrix last week at a home on Hood Park Lane.
According to investigators, Davis had relatives in Washington, D.C. and fled the state at some point after the deadly shooting. Officials say U.S. Marshals located Davis early Wednesday morning and took him into custody.
Davis reportedly waived extradition during a hearing and was returned to Lancaster County around 1:15am Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing.

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — A 34-year-old man was fatally shot in Lancaster County on Wednesday.
Around 5:30 p.m., deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office were called to 675 Hood Park Lane in Lancaster where they found Demarcus Hendrix in the yard suffering from gunshot wounds.
The Lancaster County Emergency Medical Services transported Hendrix to Springs Memorial Hospital where he died.
A vehicle believed to be related to the investigation was found at another location and was secured and towed to the sheriff’s office for processing. A sheriff’s office K-9 unit was deployed in the area where the vehicle was found.
No one has been taken into custody at this time.
The shooting is under investigation.
“We have learned much about this homicide in a short time,” Sheriff Barry Faile said. “We have a full contingent of deputies and investigators with boots on the ground and are continuing to run down leads. I do not believe the public is in danger.”
