Police: Dog Stolen During Carjacking in Matthews Has Died

Matthews Police say “Sissy,” the dog stolen during a carjacking Wednesday, has died.

At this time, officials say they do not know what may have led to the dog’s death. Animal Control is working to determine if it was in any way related to the carjacking.

MATTHEWS, N.C. – Police have arrested two suspects after a dog was stolen during a carjacking.

Investigators say a man with a knife took a woman’s truck in the parking lot at the MatthewsΒ Festival Shopping Center on East Independence Boulevard.

Police say the stolen truck was found a few hours later during a traffic stop in Salisbury.

The dog was unharmed.
