ROCK HILL, SC — A suspect wanted by the U.S. Marshals reportedly tried to commit suicide Tuesday afternoon during a standoff at a Rock Hill motel.
SLED, York County Sheriff’s Deputies and Rock Hill Police responded to the Bestway Inn on Riverview Road around 3:10pm while agents were attempting to serve warrants on a man wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Authorities say they heard a single gunshot from inside the room, and SWAT later found the suspect inside with a self-inflicted wound.
The man was flown to CMC. His current condition is unknown.
