CMPD Headquarters Reopens To Public Following Lockdown

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD reopened their Uptown headquarters to the public following Thursday’s lockdown.

The building and parking lot was placed on lockdown for several hours Thursday afternoon after police say they received “information about a potential threat regarding the law enforcement center involving a wanted, violent suspect.”

CMPD says the area was placed on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution,” but the credibility of the threat was never verified.

The area was reopened to the public shortly after 4:30pm.
