Fourth Suspect Charged In Series Of Armed Robberies

Police have arrested a fourth suspect for his involvement a series of robberies from businesses in the Charlotte area.

The CMPD says on Friday, August 31st, 2018, Kenneth Armstrong, 21, was located and arrested by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.

Armstrong has been charged with three counts of Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have charged three suspects they say robbed several businesses throughout the Charlotte area at gunpoint.

Ishmeel Chapman, 17, Baasim Davenport, 16, and Donquvious Johnson, 16, have each been charged in connection to at least one of the following armed robberies:

  • August 26th
    • The Circle K at 7010 University City Boulevard at 3:49am
  • August 28th
    • The 7-Eleven at 835 Clanton Road at 4:27am
    • The 7-Eleven at 838 Tyvola Drive at 5:14am
    • The Microtel Inn and Suites at 132 E. McCullough Drive at 5:39am
    • The Candlewood Suites at 8812 University East Drive

The teens were arrested Thursday.

Chapman is charged with three counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Davenport and Johnson are each charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
